The team who quotes the job is the team who does it

Nick, Will and Josh from Streamline Electrical standing in front of their work van

Nick started Streamline after enough years on other people’s jobs to know exactly what he wanted his own to look like. He’s Frankston-born, and he’d seen the difference between a sparky who patches the wall back properly and one who leaves you to sort it out afterwards. That difference is more or less the whole business plan.

These days it’s Nick, Will and Josh. Between the three of us we handle almost every job ourselves, so the person who quoted your switchboard is the person standing at it on the day, and there’s no phone tag between an office somewhere and a van somewhere else. We’re small on purpose, and we’d like to stay that way.

The work takes us across Frankston, the Mornington Peninsula and the wider south-east, from Mount Eliza and Seaford through to Carrum Downs, Langwarrin and Cranbourne. Older weatherboards, newer estates, shopfronts and warehouses. After a while you get to know the streets, the switchboards and the particular quirks that come with each of them.

    Josh

    1st Year Apprentice

Josh is our first-year electrical apprentice, eager to learn the ropes and grow his skills in the trade. He brings plenty of enthusiasm and is always keen to pitch in.

How we like to work

Five things we hold to on every job, whether it’s a single power point or a full commercial fit-out.

  • Upfront pricing

You get the number before we start, not a surprise on the invoice afterwards.

  • We show you

We'll point at the thing that's wrong before we quote you to fix it.

  • We explain it

What's wrong, what it costs, and what happens if you leave it alone.

  • Clean finish

Walls patched, silicone tidy, and the place left the way we found it.

  • Same faces

You get the same team on the return visit, so nothing needs explaining twice.

What happens from the first call

  1. Step 1: The first call

Tell us what's going on. We'll ask a few questions and book a time that suits you.

  2. Step 2: A fixed price

Agreed in writing before anyone picks up a tool. Every job, no exceptions.

  3. Step 3: The work

Done to the Australian wiring rules, tested before we leave, and tidied up after.

  4. Step 4: Sign-off

A compliance certificate after every major job, and the paperwork a building manager or insurer asks for.

Licensed, insured and compliant

Electrical work is one of the few trades where the paperwork matters as much as the workmanship, and both are worth checking before you let someone into your switchboard. Our REC licence number is A71092 and it goes on every quote we send, so you can look us up before we turn up.

  • A-grade licensed electricians, REC A71092
  • Fully insured for residential and commercial work
  • Installed to the current AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules
  • Hardwired, interconnected 240V smoke alarms
  • An RCD on every final circuit at a switchboard upgrade
  • Two-yearly safety checks for Victorian rentals

Every job carries a warranty on our workmanship, on top of any manufacturer warranty on the parts themselves.

A Frankston electrician for the whole south-east

Streamline Electrical & Data has been built around a fairly ordinary idea: turn up when you say you will, charge what you quoted, and leave the place tidy. Most of what follows is just detail on how that plays out across the work we do.

Homes are most of our week

The bulk of our work is residential, and a lot of it is small: an extra power point where the furniture actually sits, a ceiling fan before summer, an oven changeover, downlights that stopped working one at a time. The bigger jobs come around too, and switchboard upgrades are the one we’re asked about most, usually because a fuse box from the seventies is being asked to run a modern house.

Businesses get the same team, scheduled differently

Shops, offices and warehouses across the south-east make up the rest. The difference isn’t the standard of the work, it’s the timing, because a shutdown in trading hours costs a business more than the job itself. Our commercial electrician work covers fit-outs, lighting upgrades and the ongoing maintenance side, and we’ll schedule around your hours wherever the job allows it.

Safety is the part we won't shortcut

Victorian law is clear about hardwired interconnected smoke alarms and RCD protection, and both come up constantly on older properties around Frankston and Seaford. We install to the current standard with the paperwork on the day. Owners who want a further layer usually ask about CCTV installation, and for anything urgent outside a normal day there are after-hours electrical call-outs.

Questions we get asked

Are your electricians licensed and insured?
Yes. We’re A-grade licensed electricians and fully insured. Our REC licence number is A71092 and it appears on every quote we send, so you can check it before we start.
Who actually turns up on the day?
One of us. Nick, Will or Josh, and usually the same person who quoted the job. We don’t subcontract the work out, which is why we keep the team small.
Do you work outside Frankston?
Every day. We cover the Mornington Peninsula and the wider south-east, from Mount Eliza and Mornington through to Carrum Downs, Langwarrin, Cranbourne and the bayside suburbs. If you’re not sure, just ask.
Do you do commercial work as well as homes?
Yes. Most of our week is residential, but we look after shops, offices and warehouses too, with fit-outs, lighting and maintenance scheduled around trading hours where we can manage it.
Do you offer after-hours call-outs?
We do, for urgent faults. To be clear about it, we’re an after-hours service rather than a 24/7 one, so we’ll always give you a realistic time rather than an optimistic one.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes, every job carries a warranty on our workmanship, on top of any manufacturer warranty on the parts themselves.

Not sure what you're dealing with?

Most people ring expecting the worst, and most of the time it isn’t. Give us a call and we’ll tell you what you’re actually looking at.
